To God and Goddess
The powerful Poseidon, Greek god of the ocean, was an important figure in Greek mythology, constantly marking out his own territory. Like the sea, he could be quite tumultuous, for he was both strong and ambitious. : : : : : : After helping his brothers to wrest the control of the kingdom from the Titans, Zeus became the ruler of the Olympian gods and goddesses. A natural leader he gained enough influence out in the world to be invited to live on Mount Olympus with the other goddesses and gods. : : : : : : : Hades, the Greek god who ruled the Underworld, the home of the sleeping and the dead, was happy to leave the earthly affairs behind. Used to getting what he wanted, Hades abducted the beautiful young Persephone (Goddess of Springtime) and made her his Queen. : : : : : : Though lame from birth, Hephaestus, Greek god of the forge became an artisan and inventor. Married to the gorgeous Aphrodite, he was the envy of all the gods. : : : : : : Playful, clever, charming and resourceful, the Messenger god, Hermes, was entrusted by Zeus with many important responsibilities.
